Hunting and/or Trapping on District Property Prohibited
Hunting and/or trapping on property owned by the Stonebrier Community Development District is strictly prohibited. The District’s conservation areas were established for the purpose of retaining and maintaining such areas in their predominantly natural condition. The District’s conservation areas are subject to conservation easements in favor of the Southwest Florida Water Management District. These easements prohibit certain activities inconsistent with the purpose of the conservation easement, including, but not limited to, destroying vegetation and activities detrimental to soil conservation and wildlife habitat preservation. The conservation areas are also governed by the Declaration of Covenants, Conditions, Restrictions and Easements (“DCCRs”) of the Stonebrier Homeowners Association. Article 12.3 of the DCCRs prohibits disturbing the conservation areas in any way, going so far as to prohibit hunting and animal trapping specifically.
Any individual found to be violating this prohibition is subject to arrest for trespassing or other applicable legal action, civil or criminal in nature. Under Florida law, trespassing while possessing a firearm or other dangerous weapon is a felony punishable by imprisonment up to five years and/or a fine of up to $5,000.
